AewolFlow
Terms of Service
Effective: August 5, 2026
This document is a draft for the trial period and will be refined before official launch. Changes are announced on this page with their effective date. This English text is a courtesy translation; if it differs from the Korean original, the Korean version governs.
1. Purpose
These Terms govern the use of the AewolFlow service (the “Service”) provided by Aewol Research Lab (represented by Sungwoo Choi, business registration no. 661-54-01068, the “Company”), including the rights and obligations of the Company and its users.
2. What the Service does
- Paper reading: renders arXiv papers and PDFs you upload, alongside per-paragraph Korean translation, summaries, and key sentences.
- AI features: depth-controlled summaries, key-term glossaries, quizzes, figure explanations, questions answered from the paper, and collection chat.
- Research features: literature search, follow-up research ideas, section drafting, review, citation recommendations, literature-review synthesis, the knowledge graph, and LaTeX·Word·BibTeX export.
- Personalization: interest-based paper recommendations, library collections, and saved highlights and notes.
- The Company may add to or change the Service; material changes are announced in advance.
3. Accounts
- Accounts are created through Kakao or Google social login.
- You may link several login methods to one account and are responsible for keeping your account information accurate.
- Accounts may not be transferred or lent to others.
4. Paid plans and payment
- The Company offers a free plan and paid plans (monthly or annual subscriptions). Each plan's price and contents are shown on the Plans & Billing page.
- Paid plans renew automatically on your chosen billing period using your saved payment method. Payments are processed by Stripe, which — not the Company — stores your card details. Prices are in US dollars.
- You may cancel at any time from Manage subscription on the Plans & Billing page; after cancellation you keep access until the period you already paid for ends.
- Refunds follow the separate Payment & Refund Policy.
- Monthly allowances (such as premium AI chat messages) are set per plan and unused amounts do not roll over.
5. Notice about AI output
- Summaries, explanations, and verification results are generated by AI models and may be inaccurate or incomplete. The Company does not warrant their accuracy.
- For research, coursework, or any consequential decision, always check the original paper yourself.
- To produce AI output, your input and parts of the target content may be sent to external AI providers' APIs (Google, Anthropic, OpenAI). See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Content and intellectual property
- Paper texts come from public sources such as arXiv and remain subject to their copyright holders' rights. The Company always shows the source link.
- PDFs you upload are visible only to you, and the Company uses them solely to provide the Service. Upload only material you have the right to upload.
- Highlights, notes, and drafts you write belong to you; the Company processes them only to provide the Service.
- Rights in the Service itself (software, design, trademarks) belong to the Company.
7. Prohibited conduct
- Interfering with normal operation of the Service (automated bulk requests, exploiting vulnerabilities, and the like).
- Using someone else's account without authorization.
- Bulk-collecting or reselling output from the Service in order to compete with it.
- Anything that violates applicable law.
8. Interruptions and limitation of liability
- The Company may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance or because of outages at external providers (arXiv, Semantic Scholar, AI APIs, and others).
- For the free Service, the Company is not liable for damages absent willful misconduct or gross negligence.
- For material outages of paid Service, the Company compensates by reasonable means such as extending the subscription period.
9. Changes to these Terms
The Company may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law. Changes unfavorable to users are announced in the Service 7 days before taking effect (30 days for material changes).
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes are brought before the court with jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act. Contact: hello@aewollabs.com
